Muscadelle has been growing on the All Saints Estate since its establishment in 1864. Handpicked fruit is crushed to release sweet, concentrated Juice. The history can be tasted in the grand muscadelle. Featuring flavours of malty toffee and vanilla. This wine is luscious with exceptional balance and length. Sip and savour with vanilla ice cream or fig pudding with butterscotch sauce.

Lots of sultanas and raisins with burnt orange. Dense and oily. Very sweet. More like molasses, yet remains sweet and wild. Drink now.

4½ stars. Nice nutty nose and “a palate that really delivers”. Great length and depth of delicious flavours open up beautifully in the middle and mingle with lingering rancio characters.

Blue cheese can be problematic with wine. Some serve red; others believe blue cheese is an avowed enemy of fine table wine. Rutherglen sweet fortifieds from Victoria are one way to go, and old tokay, also known as muscadelle or topaque, is perfect. Its lushness and sweetness complement the pungent mouldy character and salty bite of a good blue. All Saints Grand makes a delicious partner with its gorgeous malt toffee, tea and nutty aged aromas, luscious, sweet, warm palate and almost endless finish.

Great intensity and finesse. Rich flavours, toffee and malt; balances complexity of its 25+yo age with freshness and vitality; lemon drops, cardamon, treacle and burnt toffee, freshly rolled tobacco and bitter herbs paint all corners of the mouth with the tongue.

Deep mahogany with an olive rim; this is a whorl of toffee plus coffee grounds and freshly baked malt loaf studded with raisins, charred chicory and salted chocolate. Very complex, rich, smooth and slippery. Wonderfully fresh. (Jane Faulkner)
