Vinification

The fruit for this wine came from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys’. The grapes were gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel to maximise fruit purity and varietal character. This is a classic example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which is approachable and delicious.

Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, 21 September 2018
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is very fresh and fragrant with lifted pungent passionfruit aromas entwined with fresh herbs and tropical fruit, unfolding subtle chalky minerals, forming an elegant core. A little and cut-grass nuance adds detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and taut in expression with a fine core of pungent passionfruit with soft notes of tropical fruits and herbs. The fruit is fine in concentration and the wine flows along a light line with lacy acid energy, carrying to a restrained, but lingering finish. This is an elegant and tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc with a fine core of passionfruit, herbs and tropical fruit on a smooth-flowing palate with fresh acidity. Match with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. 17/20 Points

Light to mid-straw colour with a clean, gooseberry-like varietal aroma, fruit leading the charge on nose and palate. The acidity is refreshing and bracing, leaving a crisp, clean, appetising aftertaste. A delicious, mouth-watering savvy.

From Two Rivers, this is a good-value wine with lots of drink-young appeal. Fresh, full-bodied (13% alc/vol) and racy, it is dry and crisp with good intensity of passionfruit, lime and green-capsicum flavours.
