Powerful heady mix of spicy red plum and forest berries, such as raspberries and blackberries. Balancing this is some lifted five-spice savouriness, and well integrated oak freshness.

11 months in French 44%, American 56% oak.
Rich and supple, yet showing finesse and restraint, with layers of blackberry, spice, plum and bitter chocolate. A very easy drinking style with excellent control of oak and tannins leaving the fruit flavours in charge.
Grapes from 3 separate vineyards were harvested at the peak of flavour ripeness, and crushed separately. Fermentation proceeded for 8 days in upright static fermenters at around 20-23°C. The wine was pumped over skins twice per day, and was run off skins and pressed at 2 degrees Baume.
