Hand-picked grapes, open-fermented, basket-pressed, matured in new and used French barriques for 18 months. Bright crimson-purple; the effusive bouquet has spicy black fruits and neatly integrated oak, a pattern repeated on the vibrant, medium-bodied palate; the fruit flavours have hints of licorice and pepper, and fine tannins mark a particularly good finish.
