This is an elegantly concentrated, refined and detailed Chardonnay with the vitality.

Elegant wine, fully
barrel-fermented,
with a fragrant, mealy,
slightly biscuity
bouquet. Full-bodied
and fresh, with vibrant,
ripe fruit flavours, a
subtle oak influence
and good length.

A mix of pristine fruit, flinty elegance and smart, measured oak. The fruit, which has density and an attractive greengage plum note, holds its line beautifully and finishes long. This is a restrained rendition that would work well with a salsa verde tossed pasta.

From the middle of the north isle, Hawkes Bay accounts for approximately 80% of New Zealand’s plantings of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah. There are also some handy Chardonnays in the fuller style, as evidenced by this friendly fruit driven offering which has enough acidity and complexity to keep it toned and interesting. The medium bodied palate consists of lively white stone fruits and melon, with an underlying appealing salty tang that works well with richer or more textured seafood dishes.
