This detailed white shows fresh fennel and celery leaf accents to the core of mandarin orange, papaya and lime flavours. Silky and very juicy, with plenty of elegance on the finish.

Herbal, citrus and greengage. More herbal on the palate and tastes mercifully dry and fresh. On the subtle side with an attractive chalky texture adding to the length. Well priced. 16.5/20

It’s an elegant, lingering, charming wine with candied citrus and stonefruit flavours admirably offset by gravelly lemongrass and woodsmoke notes. It works. It’s textural, it’s mid-intesity-at-most, it’s aromatic and it finishes both soundly and without hurry.

Relatively warm night time temperatures in Martinborough produce Sauvignon that’s usually less punchy than Marlborough. 15-20% is barrel fermented each year, hand harvested and whole bunch pressed. Lovely aromatics here with a tropical passionfruit character. Very lively and expressive on the palate with lovely detail and complexity. Very fruity and vivid with nice crisp lemony acidity backing up the more exotic fruity notes. Really lovely.
