Dense Shiraz black-fruit concentration on the nose, highlighted by spicy rose-petal-like Viognier freshness and also hints of fine vanilla oak perfume. We've co-fermented Shiraz with 5% Viognier since 2004; this magical combination gives beautiful hints of floral perfume over the liquorice-like intensity of the red.
95% Shiraz, 5% Viognier
The co-ferment magic extends with equal impression to the palate, where the black cherry/black plum Shiraz core is given glossy textural palate roundness and velvety charm. Fine French oak chimes in beautifully towards the finish, producing another refined layer of silken harmony. These delicious super-ripe flavours are meshed to extraordinarily gentle tannins, so very little cellaring is required to drink this wine at its best.
