Halliday Wine Companion 2019
Hand-picked in the early morning, whole-bunch pressed, cool-fermented in tank and barrel, then in traditional method in bottle. It is cruising along peacefully, its crisp acidity underpinning the richness developed during 9 years on yeast lees prior to disgorgement. Spice, dried and fresh fruits provide texture and flavour.

This is a great example of
quality Tassie fizz. A blend of
pinot noir and chardonnay
sourced from a single vineyard
in the Pipers Brook region. It
was disgorged after seven years
on tirage where it developed the
richness and complexity of the
best cuvees. Captures the finesse
and elegant poise of this region.
Sustained palate that presents to
a long, fine finish.

Tyson Stelzer Australian Sparkling Report 2017
A complex style that contrasts the savoury complexity of charcuterie with the fleshiness of juicy stone fruits, the character of
dried pear and the tension of vibrant citrus. A succulent generosity fills the mid-palate, with the biscuity complexity of barrel
fermentation and lees age, culminating in the refreshing tension of Pipers River. It finishes long and full, with the generosity of a
warm, dry and low-yielding season.

You can pay a motza for bubbly, but on quality and affordability my choice is the Tasmanian Kreglinger 2007 vintage brut. It has tiny, persistent bubbles, oatmeal scents and deliciously crisp strawberry, citrus, mineral and macadamia characters.

Winemaker Notes
Kreglinger Vintage Brut is the epitome of classical sparkling Cuvée. Produced in tiny quantities, this Traditional Method wine is crafted by hand and aged for many years on lees in bottle to create a wine of elegance and complexity. This exquisite blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay perfectly captures the purity of Tasmania with notes of seaside minerality, lemon citrus, quince and freshly toasted baguette – an elegant aperitif.
