Bold and brooding, this alluring red boasts red cherry, blackberry and light violet aromas all underpinned by spicy mocha. Forest fruits flirt with exotic spice on the palate teaming up with splashes of dark chocolate and savoury herbs. It's a powerful red, made to be shared with friends on the deck and partnered up with barbecued beef ribs or juicy pulled pork sliders.

This smells lovely, with nutty, malty notes to its red berry, cola and cherry aromas. It’s an easy drinking, fruit-forward style of malbec, with a smooth texture, mid-weight berry and cherry flavours and spice. There’s a savoury, herbal note on the finish that adds character and complexity.

Mock the quirky, fantastical label if you must but do embrace your inner imaginary friend so the two of you can polish off a bottle of this over a few plates of tapas. Effortlessly gluggable, generous with blackberry and bright, red cherry, a smidgen of choc-vanilla and a good savoury kick. Lighter in body than is typical for most malbecs, but all the better for it. (4.5 Stars)
