Hailing from the Clare Valley, this attractive Riesling has a fleshy palate of freshly squeezed lemon juice complimented by hints of tangerine peel and orange blossom honey that seamlessly meld with a funky mid palate complexity including traces of subtle, spicy stem ginger and river stone, pair this with a couple of dozen natural oysters.

Palate

This wine is bright and floral, with such refreshing lime and lemon on the palate. Subtle secondary notes, akin to the pastry case of a lemon tart, derived from the lees contact, help to complex and balance the mid-palate. The wine percieves crisp and dry, with a beautiful line of grapefruit like acidity to its’ finish.

Vinification

We are always up bright and early to harvest the grapes in the cooler part of the morning, and deliver them for pressing at a winery just down the road. This practice ensures freshness upon delivery and avoids any unnecessary pickup of phenolics. The juice is clarified, and then fermented in stainless steel at a nice cool temperature to ensure a lovely long, even ferment. The wine is then left on yeast lees, and stirred often over 4 months to build texture on the palate before bottling.

Tight lemon and wet-stone aromas with a precise, linear and mouthwatering palate. Lacks some complexity but will be great in time. Anthony Rose: An opulent, medium-bodied Riesling with great richness of fruit – lots of classic Clare Valley lime-cordial flavours here, on a fine-textured and well-proportioned palate. It is zesty and refreshingly dry with a fine mineral background.

From a single vineyard in Watervale, co-fermented in stainless steel, 4 months on lees. A delicious wine with scads of lime and lemon achieving the seemingly impossible task of hiding titratable acidity of 9.2g/l and a pH of 2.95. Great looking label.
