James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2016
A perfectly manicured pinot, as are all the
wines made by Tom Carson. The bouquet is
highly fragrant, with red fruits, rose petal and
spice all in play; the palate has immaculate
balance, the fruit purity retained even though
there are savoury crosscuts that build texture
and complexity,

A perfumed, delicate, pretty pinot that
is enticing from the first sip. The nose shows an abundance of sweet red
cherry and a touch of vanilla. The palate is light, soft and silky, with
gentle support provided by the French oak. Delicious drinking now and
over the next few years.

Critics bandy around the term
“pinosity” — in a word, all the allure
of this much adored wine swirling in
your glass — and it’s here in spades,
a delightful fragrance that suggests
native bush florals, exotic spices, even
dripping forest leaves, which all seem
to spill into your mouth with lightfooted
fruits such as red cherry and
red plum, not forgetting those wafting
aromas again and again, carried silkily
with just enough finishing tension to
tie down lighter game dishes.

James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2017
Hand-picked, whole berries and whole bunches, matured on lees in French barriques. Excellent clarity and hue; resonates exceptional winemaking choices, the bouquet ultra-fragrant, the palate silky and sibilant, the full array of red fruits led by strawberry and red cherries, but not stopping there. Next to Ashton Hills, King of the Adelaide Hills pinots.

Winemaker Notes
Delicate, fragrant, light to medium bodied but with deceptive power, firm tannins, and medium term ageing potential.
