Here’s a lovely thing to drink. Red fruited, a little bit spicy, gently herbal, kissed with pencil/cedar oak and an almost chamomile tea perfume. It’s only just medium bodied, fresh and juicy, yet fine in acidity, tastes spicy, feel lacy, and offers a little stalky grip on a long clean finish. A bit of a goer. Best S+S Pinot to date? Maybe. Anyway, feels ready, if not almost eager, to be enjoyed now.

Pale red with a watery rim. Cool fruit origins - fragrant red fruits, brown spice and potpourri. Balance is the key, with a web of very fine filigreed tannins and a fine line of acidity complementing the red fruited nature of the wine. Ethereal. (David Bicknell)

This wine (and especially this vintage), which has attracted judges and consumers ever since it was released, also hails mostly from the higher Hills district of Lenswood. It’s just one of those pinots that has a complete and complex expression of mid-to dark berry and plum and where the whole bunch influences in the winemaking add seamless woven spice and forest impressions and prompt a delightful, medium-bodied delicious drinkability.

Excellent ethereal aromatics. The bright berry fruit is balanced by crushed herbs with nuances of bay and thyme. It continually unfolds in the glass delivering supreme drinking pleasure. Delicious and satisfying.
