The 2017 vintage has just arrived and it is outstanding. A wine buff I know rates it as the country’s best sauv blanc and not bad value. This edition has intense aromatics without the rasping texture of many of its Kiwi cousins. And it is free of over herbaceous notes.

Australia’s benchmark cool climate sauvignon blanc that’s always worth a check-in at new vintage release time to keep up with any subtle stylistic or vintage variations. Aromatically, we see its tempered varietal tropical and subtle passionfruit notes mingle with more grapefruit characters typical of the Hills’ best complexities, and while naturally tangy – this year with an exciting brightness – there’s also a pleasing food-friendly light-to-mid-weight palate feel, adding to the new-season thrills. 4.5 Stars

This is a dignified
sauvignon blanc that
continuously reveals
itself as you move
from the bouquet
through to the
aftertaste. Initially it
has classic restraint,
but by the time you
pick up the sweet
fruit (not sugar) you
realise it’s the product
of a vintage designed
for sauvignon blanc.

A wine of charm, purity and class. Light and delicate fruit flavours of pear, star fruit and gentle passionfruit. Beautiful restraint and extremely well-made. One of Australia’s favourites for a reason. 93.5 Points

Widely hailed as Australia’s benchmark
sauvignon blanc, with cousins Martin
Shaw and Michael Hill Smith fine tuning
its style to perfection over the wine’s
28 successive vintages from Adelaide
Hills fruit. Fresh, aromatic and pure
grapefruit characters are the essence of
a truly inviting palate experience.

This sauvignon blanc is the best of this hugely popular variety. It has zingy gooseberry front-palate flavour, with elements of kiwifruit, green apple and gunmetal.
