Grapefruit, citrus, nectarine stone, struck match are there with wet granite suggestions. But I love this palate: tight, zingy grapefruit and ripe limes, brioche, nuts and a layered mouthfeel. Excellent length with mineral complexity, subtle oak and wonderful balance.

From a 20-year-old single vineyard; whole bunch-pressed and barrel-fermented. The bouquet is very complex, with citrus zest and smoky oak to the fore; the palate has the precision, intensity and length one sensed in Tough Love, the flavours exactly positioned at the midpoint between stone fruit and grapefruit, oak playing a key support role.

Winemaker Notes
The vineyard we have chosen (or has it chosen us - spooky) is a wonderful mix of beautiful dirt, vine age (20 years old) and experienced management. Still owned and worked by those who planted the vines, not one leaf, cane or berry is out of place or substandard. Low cropping really allows the terroir to shine.
